Today, my husband helped me set up the Christmas tree, get
down the decorations, and gave me moral support as I hung strings of beads,
angels, reindeer, and glass bulbs of red, green, and gold while Christmas CD’s filled
the air.
And then, I went above and beyond and set out ceramic
singers, Santas, and snowman. Silk poinsettias flank the piano. A tea candle
now lights the windows of a “snow covered church.”
This week will be about writing the infamous letter and
addressing envelopes in the mail as soon as possible. (Oops...not that one!)
[Just so you know, my husband was more than willing to help
me hang the ornaments on the tree and decorate the house, but once I got
started he know he would be in my way. He has also been warned that he will
have to do the reverse of today in about 6 ½ weeks.]
Thank you for your prayers. If you are feeling the holiday blues, know that you are not alone. Let me know if I may pray for you to find your heart of thanksgiving and the spirit of Christmas joy.
May God bless you and your family as you gather to give
thanks to the Lord for your bountiful harvest of His provisions—body, spirit,
and soul.
I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will be glad and exult in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:1-2 NASB
A favorite song of mine at this time of the year is “Give
Thanks with a Grateful Heart”
