My heart is heavy this morning...
my heart aches for America... my heart prays with groaning rather than words
for the outcome of this election... because no matter who "wins" I
feel like "we the people" lose... UNITED WE MUST STAND... healing...
repentance... forgiveness... the perfect peace of Jesus, the peace which
surpasses all understanding... UNITED WE MUST HUMBLY KNEEL BEFORE THE LORD GOD
ALMIGHTY
2 Chronicles 7:14 “Then if my people, who
are called by my name, will humble themselves, if they will pray and seek me
and stop their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their
sin, and I will heal their land.”
“IF my people,
who are called by my name…” God’s people. Those who claim the name of Jesus or Yahweh
with their own. Christians. Jews. The sheep of His pasture.
“IF…will humble
themselves…” will deflated their pride and have selfless mindsets
“IF…will pray…”
Not say they are going to pray. Not think about praying. But with sincere,
fervent, blood-beading, contrite heart have committed conversations with the
One whom they wear as a moniker of their life
“IF…will seek me…”
Seek. Diligent search to know Him, to know His will, to follow His steps. Open
their Bibles, the Holy Word of God. Look fully in His eyes.
“IF…will stop
their evil ways…” Confess. Recognize. Admit. Agree. Repent. Turn. Stop. Remorse.
Sorrow. Lament.
“THEN…I will hear…will
forgive…will heal…”
Oh, Lord, as your disciples asked, “Teach us to pray as we ought to pray.” Luke 11:1ff (and Matthew
6:8-14).
Jesus also used the story of a widow and a judge to teach
His followers that they should always pray and never lose hope. [See Luke
18:1-8]
This 2016 US Presidential election is not simply about one
person being a better leader for our country, but also about the spiritual
battle for souls. It’s the dividing of sheep and goats, God’s goodness versus
Satan’s evil, righteousness versus wickedness. And the outcome of the votes
will direct our nation…and our churches.
Tonight, November 7, 2016, 9 p.m. eastern time, Franklin
Graham will be praying for our nation. We can join him on Facebook or simply
kneel in the privacy of our homes or community of our churches. https://www.facebook.com/FranklinGraham
Remember… IF…THEN…
